A selection of our participants’ statements

“I would love to be part of this program for the chance to travel and I have always showed an interest in design from logos to illustrations. I like making poppy material with vibrant colors and I would love to to see what designs you had in mind for this poster.” David

“It would be a pleasure to learn alongside the guest designers that will be attending. I enjoy graphic design as a medium to communicate with people. I do conceptual designing in which I take particular interests when people first do not get the big picture until they actually look at the details entailing the story behind the design.” Greg

“For me graphic design is a universal language of communicative curiosity. Design has been a certain way of thinking for me, or shall I say an effective way for me to organize my art practice in a more sensible and intentional method. I have been open to the NYC arts scene and design community, but feel it is crucial in any designers career to travel and experience a new perspective on their field.” Manoil

“As a student of the design, I love all the categories of design, although my major is the design of architecture and landscape. Learning more always make good influence, going to France is very attractive to me!” Qinjian

“How much?”

Dear readers and participants, we do understand that attending our workshop is quite a financial and logistical effort. We are not a school or a university receiving funds from public authorities. We are a small group of crazy designers, still working hard to find sponsors. Our business model is simple: we share the cost and we pay well our guest designers. “Art is work”. Teaching too. We will lower our fees if we find new sponsors (for all participants). Great ideas need great fundings. So we are working hard to get there. Your contribution is important for us and fully justified by the quality of this one of kind event. High standards inevitably cost more. Any professional have to deal sooner or later with pricing issue to position him/herself. We chose. We do what we believe in and we guarantee you that your efforts will be rewarded with an unforgettable experience.

Milton Glaser | Legendary Designer. Artist. Thinker. Lover of Chairs.

Interviewed by his former student Zoë Kors, Milton Glaser speaks about his teaching. “You many know him best by his ubiquitous “I heart New York” logo. As important as it’s iconography is to the lexicon of late 20th century popular culture, there is so much more to Glaser’s body of work. He is one of the greatest creative minds of our time. I had the priviege of studying with him at School of Visual Arts a few years ago, where I experienced firsthand his understated magnificence. I’ve been crushing on him ever since.” Zoë Kors — Learn more on www.originmagazine.com
